Teledyne CML Composites Hailed as “First Class” by British Foreign Secretary, Philip Hammond

The 2015 general election campaign stopped off at advance composite manufacturer, Teledyne CML Composites when Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond took time from the campaign trail with the local parliamentary candidate, John Bell, to tour the Wirral based firm, which has recently launched a new apprenticeship programme.

Describing Teledyne CML Composites as a “dynamic, rapidly growing company”, Philip Hammond commented, “That's the way things are going. If we want to remain ahead, want to remain globally competitive, we need businesses that can look into the future, see which way the wind's blowing and invest to get ahead of the curve.  I could see as soon as I came through the door that this is a first-class business by the customer base with whom they are dealing."

After meeting management and staff, the Foreign Secretary congratulated the firm saying, "Teledyne CML Composites is taking on apprentices and plans to take on more in the future.  We've looked around the factory that's obviously on the cutting edge of technology, focusing on the manufacture of composites parts and assemblies for the latest generation of aircraft.”

The Teledyne CML Composites programme will work in co-operation with the Maritime Engineering College North West, to coach candidates in all aspects of composite manufacturing, including material properties, design engineering, production methods, customer support and applications of composite parts in industry sectors such as aerospace, defence and automotive/motorsport.

Upon completion of the three year apprenticeship scheme, the successful candidates will attain an NVQ Level 3 extended diploma in Composite Manufacturing Engineering.

Teledyne CML Composites provides a comprehensive composites manufacturing service in advanced engineering applications, including components and assemblies for aircraft structures and systems.
Teledyne CML Composites can supply the complete turnkey package, from engineering, lay-up, curing, CNC machining, assembly, paint and NDT, which coupled with the added benefit of having in-house metal fabrication and machining capabilities, a “one stop shop” can be offered to the customer looking for a complete composite manufacturing solution.
